Makan Makan over Election Weekend

Over the weekend, it was an exciting day for the country, Election Day. Even more exciting was that my family and I voted in different locations, nevertheless we made it to all the locations to cast our votes. And like everything else, after voting it was makan time.

First stop for lunch was in Damansara Perdana, Soon Soon Pan Mee & Fish Head noodles. The specialty dish here is the Fish Head noodles.
Shop front occupying 2 shoplots

We ordered the fish head noodles and fried fish paste as a side dish. Unlike the other fish head noodles, the broth in this restaurant is slightly different in color. However, the broth is very flavorful and delicious. The fish is also very fresh, and the portion is quite big. The chilli sauce is amazing and spicy too. The fish paste has the balance of texture, not too bouncy and taste very firm.

Overall, I enjoyed my lunch here and you will need to go early to get a seat as it gets very crowded towards the lunch hour. Parking can be challenging as well. Worth the visit and will surely visit again.

The following day, we decided to try Kampar Cafe located at SEA Park. I came to this cafe a long time ago and felt it was time to pay another visit. This cafe is renowned for its fish and meat balls. You can choose to have it dry or with soup and with different type of noodles. A variety of soup is available too, either clear soup or curry-based soup. The fish ball is fresh and bouncy while the meat ball is quite firm, I thought it was a bit too firm (or hard) but very flavourful. We ordered the Kampar Signature Noodle and Kampar Original Noodles, the signature noodles come with a variety of meat and fish balls while the original noodles serve fish balls and "foo chook"

If you ever crave for some delicious meat and fish ball noodles, Kampar Cafe is the place to visit
