Bukit Pau - Klang Gates Dam Loop

Having recently recovered from my santai trip, a few of my friends decided to hike up Bukit Pau as well as completing the Klang Gates Dam Loop. The Bukit Pau hike is a short and easy hike, takes only about 30 mins one way.

We made our way to Kg Kemensah, an orang asli village, right up to a designated car parking space, it was empty on a weekend, probably due to puasa month and the long weekend ahead. The car park fee is RM5. We loaded our gear and the initial path is a slope up for about 10 mins and thereafter flattens off with gentle slopes along the way, passing some orchards with multiple fruit trees. Unfortunately the durians and the other fruits were not in season.😒😒😒

We reached Bukit Pau shortly, took a quick rest stop before proceeding towards the Klang Gates Dam.

The hike to the dam was relatively easy with gradual slopes. However we decided to explore some short cuts on trails less travelled. At one point we had to climb up a steep slope without any trail. Fortunately the forest was not dense and we managed to link back to the main trail.

At the start of the trail, near to the car park there are toilets and bathrooms where you can freshen up and change after the hike. It's clean but can be quite dark.

The entire hike took about 4 hours with rest stops and photo shoots. This trail is easy and suitable for beginners and families. The best time to visit is during durian and fruit season where you can try some of the fruits.

Overall it was a good day out hiking and very close to the city.
