It's been a while since I last went hiking....partly because my son came back from overseas for a visit and was on a binge eating .....he's missing all the Malaysian food.
Finally managed to put in a hike last week.
A save SACF Banner
With my regular hiking kakis, we met at the Alam Budiman trail head and started a long and humid hike to Mirror Lake. There's a few banners all around SACF to let visitors be aware of saving this Community Forest.
The initial hike up to Peak garden was relatively an easy hike although we took an alternative route via The Swing and Bird Nest place. Eventually, the route will join up to Peak Garden
From Peak Garden, we took the usual route before branching off the main track via a construction site to Mirror lake. You will arrive at another point of the lake and thereafter we continued along the lake to the usual resting area (where most people gather)
Another view of Mirror Lake
After a short break, we decided to head back to Peak Garden via the construction site, aka short cut. Although the route is shorter but being a construction site, it was an open barren area and the sun was blazing hot, literally zapping whatever energy we have. Not a very good shortcut but it was an experience!!!
Walking through the barren site
We had to make a few stops just to catch our breath from the burning sun. Probably never again to hike under such conditions!!!
Overall it was still a good hike.
