It's been a while since I hiked at SACF and thought I'll do a short one but eventually ended up exploring for about 2 hrs. Started my trail from Budiman and hiked up to Budiman peak, a short walk along some concrete drains and eventually joined the main trail.
The View from one of the lookout point - Sky View
Just before reaching Budiman Peak, we came across a mini Stone Stacking garden. A form of art if I must say but there is another version that id called "Cairns". It is also said that stacking stones can be a form of "Practise of patience and physical effort of creating balance". It is also meant to be a marker for hikers in case you get lost.
Following the main trial, it brought us to the Peak Gardens. After a short break, we came across a directional sign that says Sky View. Since I have not hiked this trail before, decided to go see what surprise this view would bring.......A good view of the surrounding area!! Unfortunately for us the sky was rather blurry!!!
Having done our usual photoshoots and Instagramable shots, we continued our hike via another route that eventually took us back to The Wall trail. From this point there was another trail that did not show up in my AllTrails app. This trail eventually brought us to another rest stop.....A real surprised!!! Looked like a Wedding Hall with all the red cloth around the tent!!! 😱😱😱😆😆😆😆
The Wedding Hall
It was a good laugh for me as this is what I least expect to see in a forest!!! But I must commend that whoever did this, kept the place clean and tidy. From this place we then connected back to the Rock Garden trail, an easy and rather flat hike with some slopes along the way. One of the noticeable observation along this trail is we came across 4 landslide areas that occurred previously and still in its current state with no attempt to rectify or protect the slopes.
Four Locations along the Rock Garden Trail that landslide occurred previously
The Rock Garden trail will eventually link back to the main Budiman trail and from the junction it was an easy stroll back to the car park.
Overall, this is an easy trail and suitable for beginners as well as slow hikers. Good and suitable trail to build your stamina and to get back in shape for more adventurous hikes.
