Gunung Tampin Mini Trans

After my initial attempt at Trans Yam Tuan Antah (which forms part of the Trans Naning Trail) I decided to attempt another trans. This time at Gunung Tampin consisting G. Tampin Utara, G. Tampin Selatan and G. 705 (this trans is the other half of Trans Naning)

It was another early morning drive to Tampin, arriving at the check point and carpark by 7.30 am to start our climb

The initial part from car park to the trail head is an easy walk up on a tarmac road and it takes about 30 mins. A good warm up before the actual hike. You will reach the arch that says Trans Naning Trail

The start of the Trail to G. Tampin Selatan

From the trail head you will initially walk down a short flight of concrete stairs. The trail will continue to descend and will flatten off after a while. The uphill starts after about 15 mins in to your hike and goes all the way up to 734m. At some parts of the trail it was muddy and you need to grab whatever trees, branches (but watch out for the thorny ones) etc you can to help you climb. At mid point to the first peak, the steep climb starts, it was a test of stamina and endurance having to trek through the mud uphill.

It took us about an hour to reach G. Tampin Selatan, the disappointing part is there is no view at all. Just a small area to catch some rest
Conquered Peak 1 - G. Tampin Selatan

After a quick rest, we proceeded to the next peak. The trail was relatively easier and shorter with some undulating parts. It took us about  30 mins to reach G. Tampin Utara which is higher at 764m. Again there is no view at the peak.... 😞😞😞😞
Conquered Peak 2 - G. Tampin Utara

From G. Tampin Utara we had to trek downwards initially and the trail was more muddy. Despite slipping a few times, I manage to hold on to some branches to prevent any serious falls. There will be a series of upwards and downwards climbing along this trail. It took us about 1.5 hrs to complete this last hike to G. 705 (aptly named as it's 705m). You'll know you're very close when you come across a mossy boulder.
As you come closer to the peak, you need to watch out for a left junction with a fallen tree. This is the turn off to G. 705 and if you miss this junction, you will end up in Camp Ultra for Trans Naning!!!

The Conquerors - 3 peaks

Overall it took us about 7 hrs to complete the hike from the car park to G.705 including all the rest stops, instantgramable photography and lunch.
Throughout the hike, we came across very interesting floral and insects.....Some of which you can only find in the forest

Some interesting floral we manage to come across during our hike

There is a waterfall located about 300m before the car park and it's the ideal place for a quick wash up from all the mud and sweat. However there is no changing room at all, so you need to improvise.
Now that I've conquered the Head and the Tail of Trans Naning trail......😎😎😎 Hmmmm
