Kota Damansara Community Forest - KDCF

This week I decided to try something simpler, an easier trail to hike and together with some of my hiking kakis, joined the Trailblazer Hiking Club Malaysia (THCM) for a morning out at KDCF.

About KDCF - the entire forests spans about 800 acres and come under the jurisdiction of the Selangor Forestry Dept. This forest is considered one of the few green lungs located in the Petaling District. There is a KDCF Community that works closely with the Forestry Dept. to manage and help look after KDCF

THCM organized this morning walk and we all met at 7.30 am at the trail head. After all the formalities of registering and checking, we were given a no. card. This is to manage the number of hikers going in and out of KDCF.

With all our formalities behind us, we were on our way. This trail is quite a refreshing and it's an easy hike, very suitable for newbies and those seeking a quick fix close to home (if you're in PJ). Along the trail you get to enjoy the flora and fauna, an important factor to maintain our eco system.
One of the few large trees still surviving in KDCF

Fungus Galore and thriving healthily in KDCF

Interesting twines located at KDCF, you can come across quite a no. of these plants

The trails are quite wide and well marked out. There are names given to each trail in KDCF, and there's even symbols to each trail as well

Some of the trail names mentioned but there are more....AND the thrill is to go to KDCF to find out  what the others are😁😁😁 and the symbols below.....You would have thought that these could be some alien markings

For the newbies there's plenty of rest stops along the way to catch your breath...rest and hydrate yourself with water...100+....tea....etc...😌😌😌😌 Sufficient space with tables & benches as well. Below - one of the rest stops

You will know you're close to the peak when you finally reach a part of the trail that requires you to climb up some steep slopes but not to worry....It's only a short climb and there are ropes to assist you...Once at the peak, the view is amazing!!

THE PEAK - KDCF
In summary....
Parking - Road side but first come first serve
Difficulty - Very easy and suitable for beginners
Time taken - Total return trip with stops and Instagram opportunities 3 hrs
Routes - The shortest route but there are longer routes to attempt
Overall - πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

I based the above on my hiking capabilities and expectations....Each of us have different strengths and hiking expectations...The important point is to walk your pace to enjoy your hike

Special thanks to THCM for organising this hiking trip
