First Trans Adventure - Trans Yam Tuan Antah in Negeri Sembilan

I finally did my first Trans adventure - Trans Yam Tuan Antah, consisting of Gunung Datuk, Gunung Rembau and Gunung Gagak.
It was an early rise and shine for me..... Met the rest of my fellow hikers at 5 am and the journey to the tail head took about 1.5 hours via the North - South Expressway
Since it was a weekday, the car park was not full, but surprisingly, still lots of cars. I was told that several hikers came in the early hours to hike up Gunung Datuk to catch the sunrise!!!!😱😱😱
Managed to get a space at the car park (left) and the ranger's hut (below) where you get your permit and pay the RM5 entrance fee
The start of the trail is just a short walk from the car park. The good point about this place is there are washrooms and toilets that you can use before and after the hike....more importantly, it's clean. However on the day there was no water in the toilets....😭😭😭😭

THE STARTING POINT
This is where the adventure begins........

Once you pass the entrance, you will walk down a flight of steps and cross a small stream, not to worry, there's a bridge so you won't get your feet wet. Climb up a flight of steel steps to the ranger's hut and our journey begins

THE CLIMB OF YOUR LIFE......
The start of the trail is an upward climb all the way to the halfway point. Basically, the path up is all rocks but there are ropes to help you along the way. The path is very well laid out and you can't get lost.....I'm sure this place is very popular for hikers.... The climb to Gunung Datuk is not difficult for experience and moderate hikers but could be tough for newbies especially if you're not fit.
The initial climb up to G. Datuk and all the way up through the rocks (left) till you reach the rest point (below), there are benches for you to rest, it takes about 45 mins to reach the rest point depending on your pace

After a quick stop, the trail get's slightly easier and lesser rocks to climb, primarily earth track all the way up. Along the way, we came across some interesting flora and fauna as well and it was sad to see the largest tree disappear due to nature

You know you're close to the first peak G. Datuk when you start to see rock outcrops again and some of these rocks are huge....
To reach this huge boulder, it's another 45 mins plus from the rest point and then it's just a short hike up to the peak, you're practically reaching G. Datuk

The peak of G Datuk offers an amazing view.....I can understand why people would hike up in the early hours just to get a glimpse of the sunrise.... Unfortunately for us, it was not a clear day and rain clouds were forming...

The amazing Peak of G. Datuk

Short break at the peak, lots of Instagram shots, videos etc and we were off to our next peak, Gunung Rembau

NEXT STOP - GUNUNG REMBAU
From G. Datuk it's a relatively easy walk to the " Y " junction, takes about 30 - 45 mins depending on your pace. There are no hard climbs and the track is quite flat except for some minor slopes. However since this path is less travelled, it's not as wide as climbing up G. Datuk. The path is full of leeches and you may need to watch out....all of us got "eaten" in some small way or another. At the peak we met a solo hiker and he was planning to cover the other 2 peaks as well and we invited him to join us.

At the "Y" junction, it's clearly marked out the route to G. Rembau and it'll take about 30 mins to reach the peak. However there's no view at the peak, just trees and overgrowth shrubs.

We conquered the second peak, Gunung Rembau.

FINAL STOP - GUNUNG GAGAK
After a short break at G. Rembau, we made our way back to the the " Y " junction to continue to G. Gagak. The hike up to G. Gagak requires some descending first before climbing up the peak. This is quite a muddy trail, probably due to the rain the day before and is quite slippery.... again a trail full of leeches. Halfway way down there will be a fallen tree trunk and that is the short cut to the peak....saves some time going down and up again.

The time taken from " Y " junction to G Gagak is about 1 hr and is not very difficult to hike.

There are interesting fauna and flora along the way to G Gagak and even wild durians. We heard one dropping and managed to collect it....unfortunately it was not ripe😞😞😞😞

At Gunung Gagak peak, there's no view as well, except tall trees and overgrown shrubs. After a short break, we made our way back to G. Datuk for a rest stop before descending

We conquered the final peak, Gunung Gagak

Once we reached G. Datuk the place was already deserted and we were hoping to take a longer rest for coffee and snacks. However it started to rain lightly and we decided to descend before heavy rain descended on us
Fortunately for us, it was not heavy rain..... Truly blessed and we made our way down safely

Overall, it was an amazing hike and would recommend this Trans Yam Tuan Antah hike to everyone looking for an adventure in hiking.
The total time including all rest stops, photo taking, lunch, coffee, teas....8 hours plus
What a Day !!!!
