Since the pandemic started I've ben exercising regularly around my housing estate...walking almost every morning for about 1.5 to 2 hrs. So when the govt (thank you) decided to open the parks naturally it's off to my hiking days again.
For a start, I did a short one and gradually moved to longer hikes.....Waiting for the Forestry Dept to say YES to all the hutans!!!
HIKE 1 Budiman to Peak Garden
A short hike up to Peak Garden from Budiman car park. However decided to take a trail less travelled by hikers.... instead I took the 4 X 4 trail towards Peak Gardens (PG)....
First stop was Basuh Tangan lake..... looks kinda eerie initially walking down the path but it's all a figment of my imagination.....Camera does play tricks sometimes!!
From Basuh Tangan lake, instead of walking up the normal trail, took a right turn following the 4 X 4 trail, a relative easier trail but muddier, partly due to weekend 4 X 4 vehicles doing their thing. Nevertheless there were several steep climbs back to the main trail. On my return trip, I followed the usual PG trail
HIKE 2 Humpback Whale Waterfall
This is a very short hike but if you have a 4 X 4 you can drive up to the trail head for a 15 minute hike to the waterfall. Instead we parked at the main road and decided to hike in.... probably took us another 30 mins plus
This is the name given by me....there is an official name but unfortunately I promised my friend that I will not reveal it.....It's my secret waterfall playground!!!πππ
The rock does resemble a whale coming out from the water.... hence I call it the Humpback Whale waterfall. There are 3 cascades where you can enjoy playing in the pool with the water gushing....giving a good massage to your back. The water is cool and refreshing!!!ππππ
Water depth is relative shallow but like any other waterfall, you just need to be careful with the currents from the waterfall....it can be quite strong at times
This is the second cascade where you can sit on the rocks to experience the cool rushing water. At the bottom is a shallow pool where you can relax and enjoy...
There is also an Instagram photo opportunity........just need to use your imagination on how you want to pose....ππππ
The vine of the tree is tough enough to support a full grown person, so no worries about the vine breaking!!
Overall, it was a good day spent at this waterfall and will definitely coming again to cool off from the heat of the day
HIKE 3 Bandaraya - Batu Hijau (aka Backyard Trail)
Another good 3 hr hike at SACF, entering from Bukit Bandaraya. This is a easy - medium hike where you can complete quite easily. Starting point is from Bukit Bandaraya routing around Tasik Bukit Raja and then turn off towards Batu Hijau
Along the way, we met a vey slow hiker,,,,,probably will take forever to catch up with us but then again...
It was a slow and easy hike....Taking our time to soak up the beautiful fauna and amazing vines that nature has so beautifully provided
Beautiful flowers blooming in the wild
The vines in all its gloryIt's a lot greener now with all the moss growing on the rocks.....
