Lor Mee at Ulu Yam

Another great day trip outing to Ulu Yam.....just for the Lor Mee!!! Taking the old road to Ulu Yam was as interesting as getting your first toy. A picturesque easy drive by-passing Rawang town on the highest bridge in Malaysia. Amazing views but sad that you can't stop for some selfies!!! 😞😞😞

First stop is the World of Phalaenopsis, one of the largest orchid farms in Malaysia. This farm has a cafe as well serving local cuisines. Plenty of beautiful orchids and plants to look see and buy (not very expensive) Good place for children too. It's located in a rather "hidden away" village and you would never thought that a farm even existed

The main entrance is quite welcoming and there are plenty of car parking space....so no worries whatsoever. What you need is time to slowly savor the beauty of the orchids and perhaps buy a few plants too.

There's even a small chicken and duck sanctuary....probably to amuse the kids while the parents shop!!

Next stop....Restaurant 5776....Hmmmmm..... for lunch!!! ordered a single portion of Ulu Yam's famous lor mee and their signature dish deep fried belly pork and fish cake. Yummmms....couldn't be more satisfied. However I would rather the chef didn't add the vinegar in as part of their serving. I rather add my own to suit my taste...

The restaurant is located at the Old Ulu Yam New Village and on the left immediately after the turn off. there are other restaurants within the same area as well. The downside of this place, the authorities have graded this place as "C" i.e. not too clean a place but heck... food's good !!!

The last leg of my trip was the 7 wells. This was built during the colonial days (about 100 years) to prevent the risk of constant flooding to the surrounding areas. Good place for just a quick stop before heading back to KL

Overall a good day trip and well worth the time spent wandering!!
